BTM Bytom Windows Miner For Nvidia Cards

Its happened within a couple of days the Linux miner has been ported over to windows as I said would happen and you know what it actually works. Hashrate a little lower than HiveOS but about the same as MinerOS, I have translated the readme and it is ready to go,

simply unzip
Right click on bat file and edit
change address to your BTM address and where you which to mine

run bat file and you should be running

Version 2 of the windows miner has now been released

Mine BYTOM BTM With Your NVIDIA Card

This is huge, like a huge kick into the giant balls of Bitmain, they have exclusively released the B3 miner to mine Bytom and within the last few days its been cracked in China. This guide will be rough around the edges as currently I am writing it up on a mac and have no idea how to use mac

I have tried my best to translate this all from Chinese into English so it will be vague, there will be no pictures to start with but my GTX 1070 is currently mining at 0.44 hashes which is like $4 a day at the time of writing this.

Sounds to good to be true right, right

Firstly there is two ways we can do this, if you have good knowledge of Linux there is an Ubuntu method or the second method which I have used which is MinerOS which is a chinese mining program.

LINUX Method

I have no guide for this as I have not go the first clue when it comes to Linux but I can give you the files

That is the link to the miner with the password 33xs. The rest is up to you as I am sure if you have some basic understanding it will be quite easy to figure out. Also people have reported getting it working with HiveOS but I did not succeed with that

MinerOS Method

This isnt easy so go easy with me I will type it up the best I can

Go and get a Bytom wallet

Sign up to MinerOS so you can access the dashboard

Now this is the tricky bit as there will be the way I done it and the way that I think it should be done. I first installed version 1.2.3 which is no good, you require 1.3.4 minimum so you can either install 1.2.3 set it up then upgrade or try to install 1.3.4 but I dont know if that works. I will assume it works and write it up as is

Download the windows upgrade tool and get a USB drive ready

From here its a bit of guess work unless you can read Chinese, once you open the app click N for Nvidia and then what I did was use Google translate image on my phone for the rest. You will come to a screen which will say fast install or full install, you will need to click the right side as this is a full install. The left side is the upgrade that I used. You need to find your USB drive and the program will burn the image to the USB drive ready to be used.

If you just want to upgrade from 1.2.3 you can download it here and then use the upgrade tool to use fast upgrade (I will try my best to add pictures to this later!!)

Hopefully you are with me and still on track, it will be easier when pictures get uploaded. Next we want to put the USB into your mining rig or for me my normal home computer and boot to the USB. Once in you should be greeted with a screen showing your IP and asking to login. Dont worry about logging in you just need the IP, log into this IP from your phone or another computer and you will be shown a overview of your mining rig. If no IP is shown you will need to be plugged in ethernet wireless will not work. It should ask you to login on this screen with your MinerOS login, once logged in you need to click local activation at the top of the screen.

Now you have locally activated your miner go to the dashboard on your phone or your other pc and click onto config service. Add a new config for BTM, all is pretty easy to fill out and add in your BTM address from the wallet to make sure you get paid

Once that is saved click onto mining machine and under operation click the down arrow and click config. Then click your saved BTM config and you should be all set. Click start under the same menu and it should go green and say running. Make sure your OS version says anything over 1.3.4, if it is under this you need to upgrade and wont be able to mine BTM until it is upgraded

Head back over to your miners IP and on the screen it should now show it hashing away, alternatively click view pools on the mining machines menu and it will take you to your pool address

Guys I am sorry its so brief its the best I can write it at the moment with my mac, believe it or not this has taken me most of the afternoon to get working and with no real guides published out there I am hoping that this will assist you guys

If anyone manages to get further and edits the overclocking to get better hashrates get in touch would love to further this and get some better hashrate!

If you feel generous drop me something or mine some BTM my way

Tips For Staying Safe With Crypto

We all love crypto because of the freedom it gives us from banks and regulation but this also brings a real bad issue within crypto, Hacking is worth alot of money to people and crypto is an easy target, some people do not use the easiest of protection which puts their funds at major risk from being hacked. Here are some of our top tips

Two Factor Auth
Always enable two factor authentication, always! One of the easiest and most secure ways to instantly secure your accounts. Back up the sign up codes somewhere safe, ideally offline on paper or a encrypted USB. To be even more secure you could have a two factor auth phone which is used purely for this reason and nothing else

Scam Emails
Never use click through links from emails, always use the links that you have bookmarked and you know yourself. Always check for the https

Cold Wallet Storage
Do not store your crypto online, in an online wallet or on an exchange, just dont do it. The exchange could get hacked or the online wallet website could disappear along with all your funds. Invest in something like a Ledger Nano S and keep your funds safe

Trust No One
This might sound a bit simple but seriously assume everyone in crypto is out there for themselves, everyone wants to make money and they dont care how they do it. When that guy emails you and says send him .01 BTC and he will make you 0.10 BTC a week DON’T DO IT! So many people fall for stuff like this

Never Show Your Wealth
You have been trading or buying and you are building a nice little pot of cryptocurrency, never advertise this fact online. You instantly become a target for hackers who will start building a portfolio to get to your funds

Stick To Big Exchanges
Dont go signing up to smaller exchanges that you are unsure of, stick to the big guys, Binance, Kucoin, Bittrex, BitFinex, Huobi, Okex

Do Your Own Research
Dont go throwing thousands at a coin becuase some guy told you it will make you rich. Do your own research and decide for yourself, a good place to do this for coins is coincheckup

Dont Trust ICO’s
ICO’s used to be a good way of making money but now they are pretty much 90% scams, when signing up to ICO’s be very careful giving them information. Never give them your phone number and set up a seperate email address which is non related to any of your other crypto accounts

Stay internet safe, use a VPN like PureVPN and if you are downloading software then get a decent anti virus and use virus total before downloading anything

There is probably tons more but its 6am in the morning and I’ve been meaning to do this post for a while

Could the 11XX Series Nvidia Cards Not Be As Great As We Think?

Sales in GPU’s have started to drop and the price has finally started to drop on new units but this comes for two reasons. Profit is way way down, the whole crypto market on a whole is way way down and until we see some recovery our profits will remain low. Secondly people waiting on the new 11 series cards instead of buying another 10 series cards.

Details of the next gen Nvidia cards have been vague to say the least will no real leaks coming and no dates, although people are speculating that it may not be long until we see them. The image above taken from this Reddit post and thanks to microcompass for allowing us to use it gives us some idea of why the 11 series cards may not be as great for mining as we may think.

Quoted from the post

Assumed cost of $0.10/kWh, sales tax of 5% (no tax on used cards), and running cards 24/7 for two years.
My findings/thoughts:
If the 1180 retails at $699, even with the efficiency increase, its actually pretty poor value compared to some of the deals that can be found on used 10XX cards right now. At $699, with a kWh cost of $0.10, I calculate a total cost price of $846.27 over 2 years, or $1.01 per Sol/s (assuming 840 Sol/s).The 1170 at $499 would be much better value, coming in at a 2 year total cost of $618.99, or $0.88 per Sol/s (assuming 703 Sol/s), but still not the game changer some might be expecting.
2x 1070’s at $300 each would produce a total cost of $781.44 over 2 years, or $0.91 per Sol/s (430 Sol/s X2), slightly worse than predicted on the 1170, however you can buy these TODAY, not 2-4 months down the road, more than making up for the slight overall cost bump.

The intial cost of the new cards will be the huge let down for us looking to mine, as microcompass says we would be better picking up 10 series cards at today’s prices and they will only get cheaper

Of course there will always be people that will go and buy 10 brand new 1180’s not realising that the returns aren’t going to be that great

UK’s Powerhouse Network XPR Token live on Ether network today

I have been talking a bit about the Powerhouse Network for some time and made a small investment into it which is growing nicely. I currently have 2000 or so Polaris tokens which are about to be tradeable on the Etherium network today. I also have an investment in their “Trading Tree” and some of their mining.

What is different about Powerhouse is the founders and people running it – Darren Bradbury and his cohorts are actually available for chat on the internet and make no secret of who they are. This gives me confidence because unlike other organisations who hide behind a flash website (and trust me, the Powerhouse website is far from flash, it’s design really could do with an update, but saying that it’s VERY simple and plain, not the typical scam website at all), they carry a level of integrity and honesty that I like. When they make mistakes (which they have), they own up and are truthful about them, frankly, I’m glad I got in at the very start.

Although other members seem to be religious about the organisation in their fervour (I find it hard to be because 99% of what I review is a scam), I think their fervour may actually be only half of what Powerhouse is actually worth.

I have already covered my small investment and am very interested to see what happens when Powerhouse Polaris token goes live on an exchange, at that point, when it becomes tradeable it will have an intrinsic value and actually could be exchanged for Bitcoin or another Crytpo which then could be sold for cash!

The Trading Tree

(From the Powerhouse Website)

The trading tree is a unique opportunity for anybody to create an increasingly growing stream of income leveraging a lucrative trading operation that has been creating profits for 4+ years. Making consistent money from being part of the trading tree is possible by only buying at least one full position of $25. $20 from that amount is sent to the trading side while $5 goes to the position in the tree. After buying at least 1 position, the members open themselves to two hugely lucrative streams of incomes merged in one powerful system: The tree, and the trading.

The tree is the pay structure of the business. There are three levels and the only entry is through level 1. Each level is a 2×3 matrix. This means that each one of these matrices only needs 14 positions to be filled before it is completed. These positions can be filled by referred members or from spill overs.

A position in the level 1 matrix costs $5, and it is paid from the initial $25 cost of a full position in the trading tree. Once placed in this matrix, each position filled under the member, from either referrals or spill overs, pays $0.8. This means that once the 14 required positions are filled, the total payout from the first matrix is $11.2. Upon completion of the level 1 matrix, 3 first level positions are purchased on behalf of the member, in addition to a position in level 2.

A position in the level 2 matrix costs $10, and it is purchased automatically after completion of the level 1 matrix. Once placed in this matrix, each position filled under the member pays $1.6. Once the 14 required positions are filled, the total payout from the second matrix is $22.4. Upon completion of the level 2 matrix, 6 first level positions are automatically purchased, in addition to a position in level 3.

A position in the level 3 matrix costs $20, and it is bought on behalf of the member automatically after completion of the level 2 matrix. Once in this matrix, each position filled under the member pays $4. Once the 14 positions are filled, the total payout from the third and final matrix is $56. Upon completion of the level 3 matrix, 16 first level positions are automatically purchased.

This pay structure insures that any initial investment in a position opens up a serious stream of income through all the positions that are being purchased after completing the matrices, increasingly growing the income with time. But what makes this pay structure truly efficient in the trading tree is the engine that is driving it forward: The trading operation.

$20 from the initial $25 invested on each full position in the trading tree goes to the trading operation run by the Powerhouse Network. The trading side pays the member daily returns that fluctuate between 0.5% and 1% every day for 730 days. This makes the return on the investment between 365% and 730% in two years. For each $25 full position, the return in two years is between $73 and $146.

All the payouts from both the tree side and the trading side go straight to the balance of the member. Any amount in the member’s balance is subject to the 60/40 repurchase rule. 60% of the balance is used to automatically buy more $25 full positions in the trading tree, which will exponentially increase the size of the account, thus consistently increasing the payouts cashed out by the member. And sky is the limit!

All the profits mentioned above are for members who will simply invest in the full positions and relax. On the other hand, those who have great communication skills or marketing knowledge can increase their profits from the trading tree exponentially by referring people to this incredible business opportunity. Each member is entitled to an amazing 25% matching bonus on every referral. This means that you will get straight into your balance 25% of whatever your referrals make as profits in the trading tree. Combine this with how sustainable & self-sufficient the trading tree actually is we can safely assume that the incentive is clearly there; so if you are a marketer, take advantage!

With that said, the trading tree is a financial freedom machine fueled by the power of trading and designed for everyday people. It is completely self-sustainable and buying the $25 full position is all what members need to do in order to create an ever-growing stream of income for themselves and their families. We are very happy to have you on board!

So the three opportunities within the Network are:-

  • Trading Tree
  • Mining
  • Polaris Coin XPR

Return For Spondoolies

If you have been in the mining market for a few years then you will recognise the name Spondoolies, they shut down mining operations in 2016 but now look to be making a return, although its with an ASIC miner that is a little bit expensive and would be a huge gamble

They have announced the fastest Dash miner on the market which will mine at an impressive 540GHs and use a staggering 4.4Kw of energy. With the price of the miner starting at $15500 it is a huge investment which I would not be confident on seeing a return on. I ran the calculator with my energy costs and it said I would be minus yes minus $32 a day….. Maybe I am calculating it wrong

System Performance

Efficiency: 8.1 J/Gh/s
Hash rate: 540 GH/s (+/- 10% at 25 °C)
Operating temperature: 5-35 °C
Power: 4,400W

Box: 640 X 525 X 185 mm
Gross Weight: 19.5 kg
With PSU handles: 595 x 434 x 88 mm
Without handles: 560 x 434 x 88mm

Introducing Suqa and The New X22i Algorithm

These days its really hard to filter the new projects from the tons of junk that get introduced into crypto, we see lots of projects that rarely offer anything new or anything to be excited about. Suqa is a new kid on the block and is bringing its own alogorithm which is X22i. Very much like Raven Coin, Suqa is promising to be ASIC, FPGA and quantum resistant using a special part of their own algorithm called

An Nvidia Miner can be picked up here

They have also released an experimental AMD miner

Z9 Firmware With Unlocked Frequencies

The Z9 has now been out a little while and the community has now finally been able to crack the firmware to unlock the frequencies so you can overclock it. Reports have it that they overclock extrememly well with mixed results in the bitcointalk forum.

Obviously this is a huge risk and done at your own risk as you could possibly brick your machine. Have a read through the forum post
